Learning Chinese

Three years ago I lived in China. My friends and I were English teachers for a summer. We lived in Shanghai, but we took trips into the surrounding area and spent a long weekend in Beijing. It’s a summer I will never forget.

For the next four semesters in school, I studied Mandarin. My Chinese courses were some of my most difficult and most enjoyable. Since then, my Chinese speaking, listening, reading and writing have degraded, and I want to improve them. To do that, I hope to find a tutor as well as write some blog posts in both English and Chinese.

I'm excited to see how this progresses. Because I'm quite limited by my Chinese vocabulary, posts may be short, but I hope to see them grow in length and substance over time.
