Home Improvements

When I first moved to Houston, I shared some pictures of my new apartment with you. At that point in time, I didn't have a couch or very many pictures on the walls, but I did know how I wanted my house to feel. Since then I've rearranged my furniture and made some additions. Take a look and let me know what you think.

The above image shows the room I've changed the most. I found the leather couch on Craigslist for cheap and hung some artwork from my friends, Benjamin Schipper and Shinho Oh. I also moved a few of the crates from the entrance to make two end tables.

I simplified the entrance quite a bit by removing most of the shelving (crates) and adding an area to hang jackets and place shoes.

Not much changed here, but I did reorganize the shelves and switch out two of the prints on the wall for Take Time and Bookworm from Alyssa and Karen over at Paper Loop Troupe.

My kitchen looks much like any other kitchen, but I do have another piece from Ben hanging on the wall.

A few of my Indie Craft Parade purchases are in my bedroom. I framed one of Chris Koelle's botanical prints and have it leaning on top of my cabinet.

Some more Indie Craft Parade finds are visible from this angle. Ben's Blackout Dragon collection was by far the hardest to hang, but I'm satisfied with the outcome.

What have you done to make your house a place you love to be? I'd love to hear from you!
