At 5:30 this morning, my alarm sung into the silence. My eyes slowly opened, and I was awake. At this point each morning, I have a choice. Either I can get out of bed and ease into my day with breakfast, reading, coffee and time to organize my thoughts; or I can roll over, sleep "a little bit longer" and wake up in time to quickly shower and race off to work.
We all choose when to wake up, and it's not an easy choice. If you're anything like me, you often steal a few more minutes of sleep, but this morning I chose well. I had time to sit down and read nearly a hundred pages before leaving for work. Spending my morning reading, thinking and praying prepared me for the day. It was truly a good morning. It reminded me why my alarm goes off at 5:30 in the first place.
My challenge to you (and to myself) is to wake up early tomorrow. Shower, eat, read, pray and think. Beginning the day well can make all the difference.
