Books I'm Reading: A New Series
Groucho Marx said, “I find television very educating. Every time somebody turns on the set, I go into the other room and read a book.” I wish I could say the same, but like most millenials, Netflix grabs hours of my time. To combat this trend in my life, I've set three year-long goals.
- Watch an average of 5 or less hours of tv/movies a week.
- Read an average of 1 book a week.
- Share an average of 3 blog posts a week.
Sadly, I'm already behind on two of them (watching and sharing), but the beauty of setting goals based on an average is that missing one week doesn't mean I've failed.
The one goal I have kept to this point is reading. I've read 4 books, and I'm working my way through 2 more. I'm recording my progress in Strides, but I'd like to create a public record. This record will be a new series called Books I'm Reading.
I'll write about each book I read this year, share a bit about the author and link to where you can buy it. This series will be a work in progress. I've never written about books (other than book reports for school), and I don't claim to be an expert on what you should read. I'm not being paid to share my thoughts. My purpose is to encourage you to read, to remind you of its importance and to be a resource for good books.
